Jon Anderson
Chartered Professional Engineer (Civil / Structural)
B. Eng (Civil with Honours) / B. Sc
Jon Anderson has twenty-five years of structural engineering experience in commercial & residential building design. His knowledge extended to all types of structural design including reinforced and post tensioned concrete, precast, steel and timber framing.
Jon has delivered a large number of projects in the public sector, particularly in health and education, and has a good understanding of the engineering and compliance requirements for these types of buildings.
Jon has developed a recognized expertise in Building Information Modeling, and every project he has undertaken with his own practices over the past eighteen years has utilised a 3d computer model. Jon has programmed his own software extensions to maximise efficiency and he continues to innovate and develop new and better ways of delivering projects using BIM and IFC.
Jon has a diverse knowledge base to draw from and offer quality design with a unique perspective and understanding of the building design process. His background includes working as a surveyor whilst at university, graduating as an engineer with major consulting engineering firms on iconic projects like Federation Square, as an in-house Engineering Director within two Architectural studios and now with fifteen years as Director of Hive Engineering. Jon also has also developed practical construction skills and knowledge, successfully completing an owner builder project acting as designer, engineer and builder.
